Politics has been around forever and Technology is constantly evolving. Each individual field has its own Key Players that may or may not be on this list. Our focus is going to be on the people who have used both successfully to become icons in their own right. Read on to learn more about some people who are taking advantage of this trend:

President Barack Obama will go down in the history books for very obvious reasons. But he is also historic for being one of the first politicians to really merge politics and technology. President Obama used Social Networking and the Internet to reach a wider (and decidedly younger) audience, many of whom stuck with him until the end and helped elect him President of the United States.

Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams, and Biz Stone are the founders of the increasingly popular Social Networking site called Twitter. The three set out to make a fluid information network which is constantly updated with the latest happenings, and they succeeded. Twitter has become so popular and helpful in spreading information that it has gained some unlikely users. Those include the U.S. State Department, the White House Press Secretary, and numerous Congressional members.

Arianna Huffington is the founder of the most popular political blogs, The Huffington Post. Recently, she made a major push to increase the use of Social Media by making it easier for people to link up their Facebook and Twitter accounts the blog. With the Impact section of her blog, she is also making it easier for regular people to get more involved in the political process by lobbying politicians using Social Networking.
